Alabama Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit
The Alabama Senate and Legislature have a number or items to consider during the current legislative session, among these are proposed bills impacting historic preservation efforts in the state, particularly the reauthorization of Alabama Rehabilitation Tax Credit - a program that provides financial incentives, in the form of tax credits, to developers/owners of historic properties for capital costs associated with the preservation and re-adaptive renovations of Alabama's cultural assets and its historic built environment. National Park Service Grants Funds for Survey of Alabama's Historically Black Colleges
The Alabama Historical Commission (AHC) received funds to complete the Alabama Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Survey and Nomination Project. The project is to survey and update existing National Register historic district nominations for five of Alabama's HBCUs and survey and nominate to the National Register the four remaining HBCU campuses.
